WHAT THE? A PODCAST FAQ

Do I need an iPod to listen to a podcast?
Nope - it's just a little bitty mp3, which means you can listen to it on any portable mp3 player, or via your PC / Mac or even burn it to CD for listening to in your usual way.

What's this "feed" thing?
It's a way of downloading podcasts automatically every time they are published - so you don't need to come back to this page to find the latest podcast. It's been described as being "like setting your video recorder for your favourite show". iTunes is one of the best programs to use when subscribing to a Podcast feed, although there are loads of other similar programs out there that do the same thing (e.g. iPodderx for PC / Macs or Playpod for Macs).

Why are all the podcasts mostly talking, and not your excellent music?
At the moment the laws on podcasting music are very tangled....'last-season-of-LOST' kinda tangled. The upshot is that until the laws are clarified we can't really podcast music as such. But those laws may change, so watch this space.

I'm still hopelessly confused. Help me.
Go and have a lie down, or a nice cup of tea. Then have a look here for some more info.
