JULY 17 - AUGUST 10 @ BELVOIR STREET DOWNSTAIRS THEATRE, SURRY HILLS
AN OAK TREE
"Absolutely f***ing fantatasic" - The Observer
The latest production in B Sharp's 2008 season brings some of Australia's finest actors to the stage in an Australian premiere - only thing is, only one of them has seen the script. Written by Tim Crouch and directed by Tanya Goldberg An Oak Tree is the meeting of two men in unlikely circumstances, when a grieving father turns up, a hypnotist's show turns into a theatre experience like no other! Each night one of Australia's leading (and ballsiest) actors joins the legendary John Leary (The Suitors, Cloud Street, Vital Organs) on stage - they have never seen the script, are entirely unrehearsed and know nothing about their part. The guest actor will remain a mystery until the lights go down each night. No two performances are the same.
Some guest actors include Brendan Cowell, Joel Edgerton, Chas Licciardello (The Chaser), Leah Purcell, Jeremy Sims and Jacki Weaver..
